New Year’s Greeting 2023

Change delights and adorns

2023 was a year characterized by caution and restraint regarding durable goods consumption, and the housing market specifically was predicted to decline as a consequence of, among other things, higher interest rates and new tax regulations.

However, this applies more to year-round residences than vacation homes, where the attitude has been more cautious than in previous years. Nevertheless, this does not change dreams, desires, and needs, and therefore, interest in our concept has remained intact, and we have reported sold out in several associations.

As we approach the new year, it is reported that we have interest rate reductions in store, particularly due to significantly lower inflation, coupled with a positive trend in the stock markets, indicating that sentiment is turning and the appetite for investment appears to be returning with renewed vigor.

A good concept is not exclusive to Danes

Interest is spreading throughout Europe, indicating that our concept is universal in its benefits and execution. We have welcomed owners from Sweden, Norway, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, and the Netherlands. Fundamentally, our concept offers opportunities for everyone to participate.

In total, we are approaching 400 families across nationalities – although the vast majority are Danes – and have recently embarked on property number 57.

It has become clear to several that the combination of 29 owners and five homes is quite ideal. This means that you can get the weeks that most tell us they need. When we look at what is specifically booked, it corresponds to seven weeks on average and aligns well with the need that the vast majority tell us they have. Even with seven weeks per family, there is still plenty more for those who have the time.

The number of owners also means that ownership of five luxury homes can be acquired for just DKK 1.5 million. This is both good for your finances and for minimizing resource consumption.

Sustainability is becoming even more important

Speaking of resource consumption, in 2023, we produced our first climate report in collaboration with Ramboll. In the grand scheme of things, we are still a small player, but what we deal with has an obvious effect on the climate – both in terms of the basic idea of the sharing economy and in terms of the construction and property industry as a whole.

In the coming years, we will continue to work on streamlining construction processes and minimizing impact through material choices and, for example, the selection of suitable energy sources.

We must ensure efficiency

We have once again been nominated for the PropTech award of the year – an award given to companies working on technological advances in the property industry.

In addition to minimizing our carbon footprint, the advances also concern the way we fundamentally run our business and ensure a limitation of manual processes – to the benefit of both the cost level and thus the price for customers, as well as the user-friendliness among existing owners.

Activities were abundant

I announced a number of new activities in 2023, and we were served a veritable buffet of events for current and future owners. Through our collaboration with Martin Asbæk Gallery, we were able to invite to several information meetings at the neighbor in Bredgade, where attendees could also meet popular Danish artists such as Peter Bonde, Mille Kalsmose, and Niels Bonde.

We entered into a main sponsorship agreement with Dragør Golf Club, and on that basis, in August, we invited nearly 100 eager golfers to the MyHomes Invitational – a day of fun, fine prizes, and good conversations.

We thrive on high customer satisfaction

We are grateful for the constant support and good reviews that existing owners continuously provide. With a constant customer satisfaction rating of 4.7 out of 5, and with 9 out of 10 saying they would highly recommend MyHomes to others, we feel like we’re doing well. However, no one can afford to rest on their laurels, which is why we launched MyHomes Panel in 2023 as something new, which serves as our sparring partner and idea generator. A number of owners eagerly participate in brainstorms and exciting discussions.

As always, I encourage you to follow our newsletters or here on our website and on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, where we regularly report on our company’s development and regarding homes and pools.

The neighbor’s son takes over

Our almost neighbor Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II abdicates and hands over the throne. We have no plans to do so and look forward immensely to another exciting and eventful year with many new owners and activities.

The journey has only just begun. Thanks to Her Majesty, all owners, partners, and employees for another good year.

Happy New Year.
