The seaside town in north Zealand is one of Denmark’s oldest summer cottage areas. Hornbaek is something very special and has been so for more than 100 years, where Copenhageners in particular have sought out the north Zealand town. Hornbaek is packed with cosy cafes and restaurants, and at the harbour you can buy freshly caught fish or enjoy them prepared straight off the boat.

Of course, one of Hornbaek’s major highlights is the long white sandy beach, which among the locals especially is considered to be Denmark’s best beach. With its fine-grained sand and crystal clear water, the beach is a hit for all age groups and especially for the youngest, who can switch between bathing and playing on the beach’s playground.
