Imagine living in Megève

Megève is a pure mountain idyll and the epitome of exclusivity and luxury yet, to a great extent, it is a town for everyone.

Here’s how it works

Exclusive terrain with or without skis

Megève is a wonderfully charming town in the Alps with good restaurants. The French themselves dominate the city and the many foreign tourists that you often experience elsewhere are not found in Megève. This means that even during the skiing season and outside of the French holiday weeks, there is plenty of room.

The old town in Megève is car-free and, in general, the town is particularly cosy, with cobbled streets. The horse carriages are parked side by side, and you’ll find exclusive clothing stores and many cosy restaurants at all price levels. The town itself is located at an elevation of approx. 1,000 metres, which means a relatively stable climate during the summer months, while also offering pistes at an elevation of around 2,300 metres. Megève’s skiing terrain consists of 3 areas covering more than 400 km of slopes. The area has a world cup piste, and there are north-facing, south-facing and south-west-facing slopes with lots of beautiful nature. These are primarily wide boulevard slopes, and there is generally no need for large snowfall in order for the slopes to be opened.

The areas are well-connected, and there are skiing routes for everyone. It should be mentioned, however, that it is best suited for intermediate skiers, even though there is a really good beginners’ area right down by the town. In the skiing area, the view overlooking Mont Blanc is extraordinary Europe’s highest mountain. It is also possible to purchase a general lift card for the entire Mont Blanc area and ski in Chamonix (France), Courmayeur (Italy) and Verbier (Switzerland). If you’re more into cross-country skiing than alpine skiing, then the area also offers this possibility.

Megève is located 68 km from Geneva airport, which has many weekly departures from Denmark.
