Summer in Southern Europe offers a wide range of experiences, relaxation and activities. With its fresh mountain air and endless expanses of unspoilt nature, summer in the French Alps is unlike many other locations. Excursions and sports among beautiful flower meadows, majestic mountains or clear lakes, dining experiences in the local town and spa and relaxation in luxurious surroundings are just some of the many reasons to spend your summer in Megève.

VISIT MEGÈVE IN SUMMER

In winter, Megève is a popular ski resort, but the summer season is even bigger. The town is located at an altitude of just over 1,000 metres, which means a relatively stable climate in the summer months and stunning nature that invites you to enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities. You can hike, mountain bike, play golf, etc.

Paragliders and hot air balloons are also a common part of the summer landscape.

EXPLORE THE FRENCH ALPS

The French Alps are something special in the summer. The hike or bike ride through the winding paths, with stunning views of the majestic mountains that line up in rows, is indescribable. And when you occasionally meet other happy hikers or cyclists, you’ll be greeted with a nod, a smile and a “Salut”, which means hello in French.

If you’re the owner of a classic chalet apartment in Megève through MyHomes, mountain bikes and trekking poles are ready for you. If you need more, all the best hiking and cycling equipment can be rented in town.

THE IDYLLIC MOUNTAIN TOWN

The town of Megève is pure mountain idyll, and for many people it also epitomises exclusivity and luxury. And yet it is very much a town for everyone. Many people go there for a true spa experience.

You can spend many hours in the old town of Megève, which is particularly cosy with cobbled streets and horse-drawn carriages. The town offers exclusive shops and many cosy restaurants at all price levels.

Below are some great holiday photos from owners who have visited Megève in the summer.

WHAT DO THE OWNERS THINK?
As a MyHomes co-owner, you get a classic chalet apartment in Megève with a balcony decorated in true mountain chalet style mixed with Nordic design and modern solutions. The apartments are designed as a home away from home with books, games, music, sports equipment and much more. Here you can read four different families’ feedback after their stay in their French homes:

  • Megeve chalet apartment holiday home dining area
  • Megeve chalet balcony view nature
  • Megeve chalet dining room kitchen area table rugvista lamp
  • Megeve chalet apartment holiday home balcony view
  • We felt really privileged to be the first to visit our chalet in Megève in week 33. The apartment, the town and the area are in top shape, and there is plenty to look at, experience and enjoy – and we look forward to seeing the glories again in our winter clothes.

The apartment is really well-functioning, well and stylishly decorated, fantastic with so much luxury in so few m2.

  • The apartment fully lived up to our expectations. Super well furnished, cosy and with a lovely balcony. The town offers many opportunities and there are plenty of beautiful nature experiences. Maria, owner in a Comfort association
  • You have done it again! Megève is a gem of a town, located incredibly beautifully and high up in the mountains. The town and its surroundings offer a wide range of activities for all ages. Just to name a few: mountain biking, trekking and road cycling.

The apartment’s interior design is beautiful and in keeping with the style of the mountains. Especially the use of recycled wood gives a cosy atmosphere.

  • We are enjoying our lovely apartment here in Megève. It’s really well-appointed and it’s great to have both a balcony for morning sun (with views of Mont Blanc) and a balcony for afternoon and evening sun.

We’ve also enjoyed the walks around Megève (and the fact that many of the lifts also run here in the summer). I think on all our hikes there has been a place with a view of Mont Blanc.
